An IUD can cost over $5k with insertion. Any complications will be even more expensive. Edit: Not sure why I was downvoted, I've seen the pre-insurance cost from some offices that require a pregnancy test and ultrasound prior to insertion (to verify no uterine abnormalities), the insertion cost, the IUD cost, and the follow-up ultrasound to M0sz.
